My Approach

As a trauma-informed therapist, I believe your body holds a lot of wisdom - it remembers things even when your mind doesn’t.

For this reason, I like to incorporate mindfulness and body-based (“somatic”) practices to help clients reconnect with this inner knowledge. This can involve “tuning in” to the body, gentle movement, and stretching.

As a therapist, I work to create a therapy space that is supportive and welcoming and I see my clients as the experts on their own lives.

I'm not here to provide answers, but rather to share tools and support you on your journey towards your goals and priorities for how you want to grow or improve your life.

How I Work

I believe that "it's the connection that heals." To me, it's important to build trust and safety and provide a space where clients can bring their full selves. Research shows that the relationship between the client and their therapist is the highest predictor of progress towards treatment goals.

I welcome clients to talk about how current global/political/systemic issues impact their lives and mental health. We do not exist as islands and we’re all impacted by our communities, systems, and the world we live in. I believe in de-colonizing therapy and sharing power with my clients, and welcome open conversations about identity, power, privilege, and systems of oppression.

Who I Work With

I work with people facing a wide variety of issues from stress, anxiety, & depression to trauma, mood regulation, identity, relationship issues, & more. These issues can feel daunting, and you don't have to face them alone.

I have extensive experience working with tweens, teens, and young adults. We work on understanding and communicating emotions, emotional regulation, identity development, self-confidence, and more! I like to incorporate expressive therapies and really tailor sessions to the varying needs of my clients.

I also excel at working with people who identify as “highly sensitive,” or people with tender hearts, who might feel emotions and feelings in a bigger way than others. We can work together to learn skills for setting boundaries, regulating big emotions, expressing emotions (instead of bottling them up), and embracing the many strengths that come with being highly sensitive.

What We Do

In our work together, you decide the goals and the agenda, and my role is to provide tools, new perspectives, and support to you on your healing journey. I’ll create the space in our regular sessions where we can hone in on your priorities and get you moving in the direction of your goals and values.

Not seeing the progress you want? Or hoping to head in a different direction with therapy goals? Not a problem! I welcome feedback in our work together and find that it is helpful for keeping us on track and to making your sessions as effective and impactful for you as possible.
